BOAT RAMP ORDINANCE ON HOLD PENDING COMMUNITY INPUT

A law that would have imposed several new restrictions on Escambia County boat ramps is on hold -- the item came up at this week's county commission meeting where Commissioner Jeff Bergosh said he wouldn't be in favor of imposing the rules on every boat ramp. In the end, commissioners voted to table the proposal until they get more community input -- Bergosh also said it wouldn't be fair to impose a rule affecting District 4 where there is no county commissioner to represent those residents.
