BOATING PENALTIES COULD POTENTIALLY BE TOUGHER THIS YEAR

010225 (Miami Herald) New state laws could land you tougher boating penalties. Senate Bill 58 calls for boosting the penalities in boating accidents, with severe injuries, to a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. This will now make the law a felony and not a misdemeanor, as current Florida law stands, in careless or reckless boating accidents.
