Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Escambia County's annual fire safety wreath didn't stay green for long -- the first two red bulbs have been placed. Firefighters responded to two residential fires on Monday and Tuesday. The first was on the 75-hundred block of Pontiac Drive. The home was considered a total loss. ECFR says that fire was caused by improper fireplace venting. Then on Tuesday afternoon a mobile home on the 54-hundred block of Wales Avenue burned. That fire is still being investigated. There were no injuries in either fire. The 'Keep the Wreath Green' campaign runs in both Escambia County and Pensacola -- each fire department has a wreath with christmas lights... green bulbs are gradually replaced by red bulbs anytime a fire displaces a family. The wreaths are on display Escambia County and Pensacola fire stations.
