A 39-year-old man is charged in a shooting that reportedly stemmed from an argument over a tree limb. According to jail records, Derrick Suell is charged with attempted homicide. The Escambia Sheriff's Office says around 9:00 am yesterday on Capitol Blvd, two neighbors were arguing over tree limbs and that allegedly led to Suell shooting his neighbor in the leg.
Ring camera footage obtained by Channel 3 shows Suell throwing portions of the limb in the neighbor's direction, followed by the neighbor swinging at Suell. Suell then retreats back into the house to retrieve his gun. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
