Pensacola FL (NewsRadio 92-3) The first numbers are coming in from Pensacola's new red light cameras -- and the Mayor says it shows we have a real problem with red light runners. There were 509 violations reported in one week from the nine cameras that have been activated so far. Mayor DC Reeves said it's no wonder that police resources are constantly tied up with accidents at these intersections. During a press conference on Thursday he showed video from the cameras of some of the most "egregious violations." The cameras are currently sending warning tickets -- next month those will become real tickets with a fine of $158. The city says most of the fine goes to the state and the company that administers the cameras.
