FLORIDA SUPREME COURT TO HEAR ARGUMENTS OVER ABORTION BAN

Tomorrow, the Florida Supreme Court will hear oral arguments over the state's 15-week abortion ban that was passed last year. While the bill was passed last year, lawmakers went even further this year, approving a 6-week ban. The court is being asked to decide if the law violates the right-to-privacy clause in the state Constitution. Planned Parenthood argues that the privacy clause, enacted by voters in 1980, shields a person's private life from government intrusion, and that includes the right to an abortion. The Supreme Court ruling will determine the fate of the 6-week ban passed this year.
