112624 (Florida Politics) Gov. DeSantis has approved bonuses for first responder recruits who worked during Hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton. DeSantis says he's awarding the bonuses through the Florida Law Enforcement Recruitment Bonus Payment Program. The program was initiated in 2022 and provides a $5,000 bonus for newly employed officers in Florida.
