In a heroic act, a landscaper in Escambia County intervened last week as a man was allegedly abusing his two stepchildren. 41-year-old Adam John Phillips was arrested and charged with domestic violence aggravated child abuse after neighbors heard screams coming from his home. Both children, who reported this was the first time such violence occurred, are now safe and recovering.
