LOSE THE "REAL" CHRISTMAS TREE

010125 (Nexstar) With the holiday season now behind us, it might be time to consider losing your "Real" Christmas tree. Arson investigators confirm as trees dry out, they tend to become more and more flammable. In the U.S., about 36% of Christmas tree fires are sparked in January. Forty-one percent of the fires were caused by electrical lighting equipment, about 20% were sparked by lightbulbs or lamps, and 11% were ignited by candles. Above all, trees should be discarded when they start to dry out and are placed safely away from any flammable object.
