MAN CHARGED WITH TRUCK-FLINGING INCIDENT

A Fort Walton Beach man is facing homicide charges for allegedly flinging a woman off his truck, causing a head injury that ultimately killed her. It happened last month, officials say 27-year-old Matthew Reeves and the victim had left a nightclub after a verbal argument, some time later the woman had gotten out of the truck and was clinging to the hood and standing on the bumper. Investigators say Reeves had accelerated into a parking lot, then slammed on the brakes -- forcing the woman to fly off the truck backwards. The victim hit her head in the fall, and died on April 1st. Investigators say the incident was captured on surveilance video, and Reeves statements to police were not consistent with the footage. He remains in the Okaloosa County jail where he's held without bond.
