FATAL CRASH ON -10 THURS MORNING -- David Wayne
Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A 44-year-old Pensacola man has died after a crash on I-10 this morning. It happened around 5:30 in the Westbound lanes near Mile Marker 7. The Florida Highway Patrol says the man was driving east when his pickup truck ran off the side of the road, crossed a median, and crashed head-on into a box truck. That truck was then struck by a second vehicle as it was passing through the crash scene.
Troopers say the driver of the truck was not wearing a seatbelt, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the box truck also suffered minor injuries and was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital. The crash completely blocked traffic on the interstate for several hours this morning.
