Pensacola FL (NewsRadio 92-3) NAS Pensacola will have a new commanding officer tomorrow. Current commander Captain Terry "Village Shashaty" is retiring after a 26-year Navy career, and he'll be handing the installation reigns to its first female commander Captain Chandra "Mamasan" Newman. During Shashaty's career, he graduated from the US Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree, received a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies, and completed four operational carrier deployments as a naval aviator. Newman received her wings in 2004 and most recently served as the Commander of Naval Air Forces Leadership, Education, Growth, Advocacy, Culture, and Youth Outreach. On Friday, a ceremony is being held at the Naval Air Museum onboard the NAS.
