NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER TRACKS TROPICAL WAVE

A tropical wave out in the Atlantic could be the next named storm of the season. The National Hurricane Center is tracking the system near the Lesser Antilles. Forecasters are giving it a 60-percent chance of developing in the next seven days and say it could form into a tropical depression later in the week near the Greater Antilles or The Bahamas. It's impact on the U.S. is still uncertain, but the Florida Peninsula is in the forecast cone of the potential storm. Here in the Pensacola area, we are currently just outside of the cone, but that could change.
