Some changes are coming for people who park downtown. City leaders said they wanted to move towards a new app with a better user experience. That app is called ParkMobile and the city had planned to switch at the beginning of the year, but it's gone live a few days early. Newsradio has checked and confirmed that Pensacola's parking zones are listed. The app appears to use a Google Maps interface and location to more accurately detect your location when you park. Reeves says the most frustrating issue with downtown parking was frustration with the ParkPensacola app -- and not the cost. He says they are taking "baby steps" with the changes, and if you pay with the old app it will still work and you won't be ticketed.
