SANTA ROSA COMMISISONERS LOOKING AT FUNDING TOLL STUDY

Santa Rosa County Commissioners are considering a proposal to allocate just over $385-thousand dollars to design a toll system for the Navarre Beach Causeway Bridge. If the tolls were approved they would help to fund maintanance for the 65-year-old bridge. If commissioners approve the proposal, Jacobs Engineering will create the design and conduct a rate study to establish toll charges for southbound vehicles. Additionally, the county plans to reallocate part of a $1.5 million fund earmarked for a future bridge study to cover these costs.
