010725 (WEAR) Escambia Sheriff Chip Simmons gave his "State of the Agency" address Monday confirming his support to keeping drugs off the streets, as fentanyl remains a primary focus. Violent crime is down 6%, a 13% reduction in reported crimes, and the impact of the Real Time Crime Center, introduced in March of 2024, has made a community safety difference. The Center is a functional partnership between the sheriff's office and the Pensacola Police Department. Simmons says, "For the first time in 20 years, the office is fully staffed."
