State Lawmaker Files Bill to Recognize 'Gulf of America' on State Level

(Tallahassee, FL) -- Yesterday the Gulf of Mexico was officially changed to 'Gulf of America' on Google and Apple Maps -- and now a Florida lawmaker wants to change how state laws refer to it. State Senator Nick DiCeglie filed a bill yesterday calling for the body of water to be called the Gulf of America in official state documents. President Trump issued an executive order last month to rename the gulf as the Gulf of America on a federal level. DiCeglie writes on X he wants state records to reflect the new name of this beautiful body of water.
