Analyzing over 16,000 intersections in Florida, researchers found that the average traffic delay per vehicle was 20.4 seconds. That is compared to the national average of 18.1 seconds. Many of the state's traffic signals operate on timers, meaning they are "analog in a digital world." It is not a question if traffic lights will be upgraded, it is only a matter of when.
