Postal workers and retirees joined protests Sunday as part of a nationwide push against plans to privatize the U.S. Postal Service. Pensacola's Branch 321 was one of many gathered for a "national day of action." The union is raising concerns about possible job cuts and a proposal to merge the USPS with the Commerce Department. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy recently announced plans to cut 10,000 jobs and offer early retirements to address the agency’s financial struggles. Protesters say the USPS is essential, delivering 150 million pieces of mail every day.
